BIKUR CHOLIM SHEVETH ACHIM

The Congregation Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim is located in the lower Westville section of New Haven, in the heart of the Elm City’s Jewish Community.  Formed in the early 1950's by a merger of Sheveth Achim and Bikur Cholim (two congregations with decades-long histories in the now bye-gone Oak Street neighborhood)  the synagogue’s roots in the community are broad and deep.  The synagogue has been located on the corner of Marvel Road and West Elm Street for over twenty years.

 

An unaffiliated, Orthodox congregation, Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim offers daily morning minyanim, as well as all Shabbos and Yom Tov services.  Evening services Sunday-Thursday are held in cooperation with the Westville Synagogue (in odd-numbered months evening services are held at Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim; in even-numbered months evening services are held at the Westville Synagogue).  Seating at all services is separated by a mechitza.

 

Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim has a long history as a welcoming, non-judgmental, family-friendly place of worship.  All who enter through its doors are treated as with dignity, as equals.  We strive to represent the Jewish branch of Judaism in all respects.
